Muckrach Country House Hotel – River Spey
Located in The Cairngorms National Park, The Muckrach Country House was formerly a Victorian Shooting Lodge, that was lovingly restored and renovated to become a luxury 13 bedroom hotel, situated within close proximity to one of Scotland’s Best Salmon Rivers, the River Spey. Muckrach also enjoys fishing rights on the River Dulnain, a superb salmon spate river in its own right, situated opposite the hotel, and salmon fishing can be arranged on various select beats of the River Spey with a guide and premium tackle and transport provided.
Muckrach sits in an elevated position overlooking spectacular Scottish scenery and surrounded by Highland Cattle. There is an ancient castle next door. The hotel is a sporting hub in the Scottish Highlands, and fishing and shooting can be arranged. The Speyside valley has a rich field sports heritage and the hotels walls echo with stories of the “one that got away” over a dram of Malt from the envious selection behind the bar.
The Salmon Season on the River Spey runs from 11th February to 30th September and Scottish Legislation states that all salmon caught before the 1st April must be safely returned.
Muckrach is also perfectly positioned as a stop off for a tour of Scotland and a short drive north will bring you to Inverness and on up to the West Coast of Scotland.
